Not only is this faster on the circuit, it is also safer on the public highway! With progressive Hyperpro springs the bike takes less of a dive, the rate of resistance increases which results in an improved braking distance. ![]() Regular springs cause the bike to 'dive' causing the brakes to become less effective. Whenever you apply the brakes, the pressure on the front wheel increases. A number of benefits are mentioned below: This results in a perfect set-up for every situation. Hyperpro produces progressive springs whereby the top half is easily compressible and compression of the bottom half is much harder. The result is that the top of the spring is in fact too rigid and the bottom too supple.įortunately, this perfect world does exist. Compressing the top half of this type of spring takes just as much force as compressing the bottom half. As the spring compresses, it becomes more rigid so even large bumps and holes in a road surface will not cause the suspension to bottom out.įor cost-efficiency reasons, new motorbikes are equipped with linear springs. The top half of the spring would be supple and would react flexibly to absorb small bumps and irregularities instantly. In a perfect world the suspension of your motorbike would react differently every time. We also recommand to use a better front fork oil like: Motul W10 This combined with a good oil like will give the bike a much better handling, When you want the best for your XR1200 without a riser upgrade in the rear look here: or when you upgraded the rear suspension with: or another brand, we recommand to upgrade the front springs for the Ohlins progressive version. If everything works, a list of titles appear that you can select from.Press the "Analyze DVD" button (that's the big DVD player icon). And you can always use Handbrake or another encoder to transcode the files later on if you want. This means you get content that is the same size that it was on the disc - but it takes maybe 10-15 minutes instead of the 1, 2 or more hours the process takes in Handbrake. In the process it removes basically any copyright protect and rebundles the files in a MKV container instead of the VOB one used on DVDs. MakeMKV is a free application that basically just copies files from a disc to a file. I've tried a bunch of trial versions of other commercial Handbrake-like applications that supposedly handle DRM better, but they've all struck me as weird in different ways (strange UIs etc) which have not convinced me they will be continually updated to keep working when new DRM appears.įinally I found the real solution - it's called MakeMKV. (For the worried: in Sweden it's perfectly legal to make personal backups of movies you buy). The other, more serious drawback, is that it doesn't bypass DRM (copy protection schemes) very well. That can be a good thing - it makes the files smaller with no noticeable quality loss - but it takes a lot of time. One is that it transcodes the content of a disc into some other (mp4) format. That's not an entirely bad recommendation, but Handbrake has two big drawbacks. Hence: a need to rip DVDs into a format suitable for Plex.Ī common recommendation is to use an application called Handbrake. They are not as ready available on the streaming services, and those that are don't always have Swedish audio or remain in the catalog forever. There is an exception however - specifically kids' movies. I especially don't buy a lot of movies on DVD. Basically everything I want to watch is on one of the big streaming services, and that comes with both convenience (mobile apps, subtitles, correct naming) and sound morals compared to the olden days.
